Inspection mechanism agreed with UN for Hodeidah ports discussed
[19/June/2019]
SANAA, June 19 (Saba) - A meeting was held on Wednesday in the capital Sanaa and headed by Transport Minister Zakaria al-Shami to discuss the inspection mechanism agreed with the United Nations for the ports of Hodeidah.

The meeting, which was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Azzi and Chief of Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation Captain Mohammed Ishaq, reviewed technical aspects of the inspection process, which would be implemented during the coming days in the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Issa, and how to cooperate with the United Nations team in the management of Hodeidah ports.

At the meeting, al-Shami explained that the agreement with the United Nations in this regard came in implementation of Stockholm agreement, noting that all facilities and services were offered unilaterally in order to enhance confidence and prove goodwill.

The Minister called for the United Nations to oblige the other party to implement its obligations and the terms of Stockholm Agreement signed by the parties under UN auspices.
