[18/December/2017] Sana'a, 18 Dec (Saba)- The Deputy Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen and his accompanying delegation, arranged to be arrived in Sana'a during the period 19-23 December, has postponed his visit to Yemen to the beginning of January 2018, an official source at Ministry of Foreign said.
"As part of the process of achieving a political settlement towards a just and honorable peace that preserves the rights of Yemen and its people, and in support of the good offices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to find a peaceful solution in Yemen, . the source said.
"With the completion of the final arrangements for the mission of the delegation, the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations requested the postponement of the visit for logistical reasons beyond his control, in addition to coinciding with the postponement that was requested with the start of the holiday season of Christmas and New Gregorian year, and his proposal to reschedule the date of the visit to the beginning of January 2018 ". the source added.
The source indicated that it had been arranged with the United Nations Political Affairs Office on the new date and program of consultations.
The source pointed out that this position illustrates the difficulty of the arrival of international delegations as well as the arrival of international journalists and journalists to Sana'a, which is constantly repeated as a result of the aggression and imposed by the land, air and sea blockade on all Yemeni ports and the continued denial of commercial flights to Sana'a International Airport. Yemen's humanitarian situation is getting more worse.
