SANA'A, May 24 (Saba) - The United Nations (UN) secretary general's envoy to Yemen Jamal Bin Omar described Thursday the meeting of friends of Yemen held on Wednesday in Riyadh as successful.

Upon his arrival to Sana'a, Omar said that the meeting has succeeded due to the presence of all Yemen's friends, who has confirmed the necessity to assist Yemen currently, pointing that Yemen's needs are numerous and the government's potentials are limited.

"What has been granted in Riyadh meeting will be directed to address the humanitarian needs and Yemeni economy recovery," Omar said.

He pointed to another meeting to be hosted also in Riyadh for the donors, which would focus on details relating to donor's aid and the specified projects.

"The UN urges the entire international community, donors and friends of Yemen to intensify their efforts in support of the Yemeni economy and the political process," the UN envoy said.

Omar said that his current visit to Yemen aims to keep on consultations with all parties in the framework of evaluation of the political and security situations in Yemen and follow up the implementation of the UN resolution 2014 and the Gulf initiative.

The evaluation report would be submitted to the Security Council's session scheduled for 29th May, he added.
