Sana'a governor briefs WB on investment efforts

SANA'A, Aug. 02 (Saba) - Sana'a Governor Nu'aman Dwaid reviewed on Monday with a delegation of the World Bank (WB) the governorate's investment mechanism.

During his meeting with the WB delegation concerning the evaluation of the financial bodies' role in Yemen, Dwaid talked about the investment role the governorate plays, particularly in stone formation industry, in addition to preparing a plan to improve the skills of the governorate's inhabitants in the building adornment and ceramics.

He pointed to the governorate intends to revive almonds agriculture in some districts, saying that about 30,000 nurslings have been distributed for free to the formers in the last two years and 500,000 are to be distributed in the coming two years.

He highlighted the role of the private sector to assist in development process via establishing investment projects, including building up a stained glass plant, which is the second in the Middle East.

Dwaid said that a Zinc plant with a Yemeni-British capital amounted to $200 million, affirming that plant will start production in the current year.

The WB delegation praised the procedures the governorate's leadership adopts in running the local councils in the districts and its relations with central planning and financial bodies.
