CAMA Head: Yemenia regular flights to Paris still continuous
[04/July/2009]

SANA'A, July 04 (Saba) - Yemenia Airways' regular flights are continuing from Sana'a to Paris and Sana'a to Moroni and only the extra flights have been suspended, Chairman of Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA) Hamed Ahmed Farag said on Saturday.

The CAMA head affirmed in a statement to Saba that Yemenia Airways has suspended its flights to Marseille according to a request from Marseille airport authorities, saying that they can not guarantee safety and security of Yemenia Airways' flights.

According to the authorities there, protesters from the victims' families of the Yemenia crashed airliner prevented any persons want to travel on Yemenia flights, Farag added.

The Yemenia flight IY 626 from Sana'a to Moroni crashed into the Indian Ocean last Tuesday with 153 people including a crew of 11 onboard.

Only a French teenager girl could survive the disaster, with few bodies and some pieces of the wreckage of the airplane have been found so far.
