Political developments in Yemen discussed

SANA'A, Oct. 29 (Saba)- The Yemeni-European Political Dialogue Committee discussed on Tuesday, in its fifth annual meeting held in Sana'a chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Muthana and assistant director of the Middle East and North Africa in the French Foreign Affairs Ministry Natali Lwazad, the Political developments in Yemen and countries of European Union and the international and regional situations in this regard.

The dialogue dealt with the national agendas for reforms, arrangements for next elections of 2009, evaluation of humanitarian needs and rebuilding Saada province, public rights, women status, security, fighting terrorism, impacts of the situation in the African Horn over influx of refugees, increasing piracy,
developments of peace process in the Middle East, situations in Iraq and Sudan and many international and regional issues.

For his part, Muthana welcomed the visiting committee, hoping every progress and success for working together on enhancing official contact and broadening the economic, development and political cooperation.

For her part, Lwazad indicated that she keep trying to be a real partner in Yemen in order to deepen the bilateral relations between two sides.

She also voiced her concern to flood-hit areas in the eastern governorates of Hadrmout and Mahrah, showing in the same time her readiness to offer emergency needs.
