SANA'A,  (Saba)- An agreement of importing Syrian wheat was signed on Thursday between the Yemeni Economic Corporation and the Syrian General Establishment for Cereal Processing and Trade.

Under the agreement, signed by directors the of the two corporations, the Syrian establishment would supply Yemen with required amounts of wheat seasonally. The agreement also states to supply Yemen with 50,000 tons of wheat from the Syrian reserves for this year.

Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil highlighted level of the bilateral relations between Yemen and Syria.

He affirmed the importance of enhancing commercial ties between the two countries, welcoming Syrian investments in Yemen.

Director of the Syrian establishment Suleiman al-Nasir said that the establishment would supply the Yemeni market with this amount in accordance with directives of the Syrian President Bashar al-Asad.

"The price of the imported amount of cereal would be calculated internationally," he said.

For his part, director of the Yemeni Economic Corporation Ali al-Kuhlani said that the agreement comes within the framework of the significant ties between Yemen and Syria, noting that this amount would enhance reserves of the Yemeni corporation and wished further progress for the Yemeni-Syrian relations.
