Security Council condemns Marib terrorist attack
[10/July/2007] NEW YORK, July 10 (Saba)- The UN Security Council has condemned last week's suicide car bombing that claimed the lives of nine people and injured many others near Bilquis temple in the eastern Yemen province of Marib.

The suspected al-Qaeda terrorist attack claimed lives of seven Spanish tourists and two Yemeni drivers and injured other twelve including six Spanish tourists and six Yemeni citizens.

In a statement read out by Chinese ambassador Wang Guangya, who holds the rotating presidency this month, the Security Council urged
all countries to play their part to ensure that the perpetrators, the organizers, the financiers and the sponsors of the attack are
brought to justice.

Guangya urged the UN member states to collaborate with Yemen and offer it necessary support to fight terror.

The Security Council reaffirmed also that all forms of terrorism and
manifestations constitute the most serious threats to international
peace and security.
