Yemen, China sign mineral agreements
[08/July/2007] SANA\'A, July 08 (Saba)- The Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Board (GSMRB) signed Sunday with the Chinese Stone Group Holding Company two collaboration agreements to explore minerals of gold, lead, copper and zinc in a number of provinces and provide the board with equipment at a total cost of $400 thousand.

The agreements were signed by chairman of the board Ismail al-Janad and chairman of Stone Group Holding (SGH) Duan Yongji.

In statement to Saba, chairman of SGH pointed out that the signed agreements come within the framework of enhancing the joint cooperation between both countries, particularly in the field of exploring minerals.

Yongji affirmed interest of China to support Yemen in several fields, and interest of Chinese companies to invest in the country.
