[05/July/2007] SHABWA, July 05 (Saba)- The number of oil blocks in Shabwa governorate have reached 17, according to an official report.
The report says four blocks are productive, other six are under exploration survey and the rest are open for competition by oil companies who like to invest in
In a meeting for the officials of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority (Pepa), report and measures of the oil ministry to review means of environment monitoring and professional safety were discussed. They also discussed setting up a whole database for the companies working in the governorate.
Deputy director of the Pepa in the governorate Nasr al-Haml said that discovery of the basic rock in some blocks enhance desire of companies to invest in oil sector. He expected increase in the number of oil blocks in the governorate due to the natural features of layers.
