[03/August/2005] Al-Thawrh, the leading official daily focused its editorial on the Yemeni Saudi relationship and Yemen's participation in the funeral of the late king Fahd ben Abdul-Aziz. The paper described the Yemeni Saudi relations as historical and very deep rooted.

It stated that there was no surprise that Yemen took part in the funeral of the late king Fahd Ben Abdul-Aziz that held yesterday in Ryadh with a high rank official delegation headed by HE the president of the republic Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The Yemeni delegation which had been to Ryady to pay respect to the Saudi late king included top government officials, MPs, political leaders and social dignitaries. The large Yemeni delegation to the funeral reflected the distinguished and historic ties between the two neighboring countries the republic of Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Thaw rah went on saying we in Yemen have never forgotten that Yemeni Saudi relationships have become very close, warm and deep rooted due to the extensive efforts made by the late king Fahd Ben Abdul-Aziz and HE president Ali Abdullah Saleh. The wise leaderships in the two countries will be remembered for their great achievements in developing the cooperation between the two brotherly and neighboring peoples of Yemen and Saudi Arabia, furthermore bringing about a peaceful solution to the borders disputes and going on establishing a wider partnership between the sides to serve the mutual interests of the two countries and peoples.

Al-Thaw rah came to say that the late king Fahd Ben abdul-Aziz used to have deep respect in the hearts of Yemenis ,Arabs and Muslims, so we are very sad for his death, but what alleviates our grieve is that King Abdullah Ben Abdul-Aziz is the best successor for the good predecessor as he is very famous for his wisdom, far sighted vision and courageous stances.
