Tourist Sector in the ministry of culture and tourism has been making great efforts aiming to develop the tourist resources and promote tourist activities as well as to adopt the most advanced means of international tourist marketing.
The deputy minister of culture and tourism Mr. Nabeel Al-Fakeeh, told Saba News agency that arrangements now are under way for preparing the action plan of announcing Sana,a as Arab tourist capital for 2006, in order to shed the lights on Yemen as a civilized tourist destination characterized by its social and cultural features which can help promoting Pan -Arab Tourism.
Al-Fakeeh said that the ministry's plan aims to provide a data base of tourist information through a qualitative tourist survey so as to guide the general strategies of tourist investment according to the factual needs of tourist facilities and services of each region of the tourist attractions in the country and the information about the qualified and unqualified manpower so as to re-qualify them as well as providing the tourist sector with the skilled and competent cadres, who are capable upraising the tourism according to scientific methods, over three phases till the end of the next year 2005.
Thus , the ministry of culture and tourism is engaged currently in preparing a number of the tourist promotion aids such as the tourist map which includes the tourist attractions all over the country and tourist purchases to introduce Yemen in English, French, German and Spanish in addition to Arabic.
Al-Fakeeh said.Mr. Al-Fakeeh added that, efforts are being exerted by the tourist sector in the ministry for constructing the Tourist Yemen Web Site on the Internet .
The web site aims to present all necessary information about Yemen which the foreign visitor might need to know.
With reference to, the external activities, the culture and tourism under secretary, stated that preparations are under way for our country, s participation in the fourth conference of the tourism ministers in the Islamic world which is scheduled to be held in the Senegalese capital Dakar from 12 to 16 of the current Dec.Mr .
Nabeel Hussen Al-Fakeeh, deputy minister of culture and tourism will head the Yemeni delegation to the conference . The Yemeni delegation will put forward a number of suggestions concerning to the negative impacts of terrorism on the tourism around the world and the heavy loses inflicted the tourist business due to the terrorist acts.
Al-Fakeeh said that, on the sideline of the conference , he will sign a memorandum of understanding with Malaysia in the field of tourism between .
