Russians officials and intellectuals have come to say that president Ali Abdullah Saleh is worthy to be honored the civilization dialogue decoration for the year 2004. A decoration that Russian National Glory Center used to grant to some international public figures and statesmen who proved to be of great influence on their own countries and international arena.

The committee concerned with granting the civilization dialogue decoration had decided in June to honor HE. President Ali Abdullah Saleh this year decoration as a recognition of his stupendous efforts he has made to enhance the Russian yemeni relationships and his role in pushing up the dialogue among cultures and civilizations as well as his active participation in fighting the terrorism.

Chairman of Board of Secretaries of Russian National Glory Center Mr. Bakounin consider that president Ali Abdullah Saleh eventually deserves the decoration which - also used to be granted under the title of the (meeting of faith, loyalty and allegiance)- for his genuine service he has made to serve his peoples civilization , culture and traditions which ensure the needed requirements to cope with the age s challenges.

Mr. Bakounin pointed out to the major achievements Yemen has made under the leadership of president Saleh on top of which are the country reunification, modernizing the political system and consolidating democracy in addition to stepping up the economical development and building a modern infrastructure.

The vice foreign minister Mr. Alexander Sultanouv, said that president Ali Abdullah Saleh has played a key role in strengthening the Yemeni Russian relations , moreover he brought to light that international relations are not merely of political nature or confined to politics but it is rather a comprehensive culture has its own concepts, norms and language. This culture is being grown through several manners, most importantly is the social initiative like the civilizations dialogue.

Mr. Sultanoov indicated that Russian Yemeni relationship spanned over more than 50 years and the two countries stances are very close on many international issues at the moment. He added that we are today taking a significant step forward for developing our friendship not only through the political, economical and commercial co-operation but also within the course of civil societies/ communities dialogue.

Professor Aleigh Yorivetch Atakouv- an astronaut a member of the decoration granting committee stated that president Ali Abdullah Saleh is a veteran statesman and a genius politician who highly appreciate the culture and arts. Thus , he is competent to boost and promote the dialogue among civilizations and cultures with the international community.

Prof. Atakouv added that president Ali Abdullah Saleh of the republic of Yemen was decorated this medal for his overtly manner based on the dialogue and understanding principles at both the national and international levels.

For his part, the chairman of the Russian National Glory Center, Alexander Vladmerovitch views the international terror challenge as a war against the civilized principles of the humankind. In the light of these circumstances societies are seeking after the dialogue s language and mutual co-operation for building a sincere and strong relationships. Hence, the Russian National Glory Center had set up the international committee for the Civilizations Dialogue to be a realistic means for bringing about the social conciliation .
