  About Yemen
Al-Baidha Governorate.
[20 September 2004] Al Baidha , situated in the southeast part of Yemen some 268 km. from Sana'a . It is very famous for its wide variety of historical sites. Ruins of ancient towns , forts and building distributed all over the province. The most important archaeological sites are Markha, Qania, Hasa, Al-Mesal and Wadi Tha. .

Al Baidha city.
The administrative center of the province, at the southeast part of the province, near to Mukayras. It is connected to Dhamar by a paved road across Rada'a and to Abyan via Mukayras.

The architectural style prevalent in the province is stone construction of the ground floor with mud-built upper floors. Some house are fully built with stones in the unique style of al-Baidha and its surrounding region of Hareeb and Al Jooba of the Marib region.

Rada City.
About 100 km from Dhamar it is one of the ancient historic sites. It said that the Himyarite King, Shammar Yahri'sh, had taken this city as residence.

The city was also an important center of the Tahirade dynasty in the 15th century AD. The houses here are built with off-white clay . The windows are double arched and sometimes triple arched, covered by broad marble panels. This unique style of architecture is confined to Rada'a.

Features of the City.
Rada'a Fort is an important historical site in Al-Baidha governorate. Located on top
Of a hill and its history dates back to hundreds of years ago. Large portion of the fort’s ruins are clearly seen in the site and some parts of its fence are still stand

Al-Ameriyah Mosque.
The most interesting monument in Al-Baidh and one of the famous historical building in Yemen. It is characterized by its distinguished architecture, design, decoration, and domes.

It was built by Sultan Amer Bin Abdul-Whahab around 500 years ago.It is consisted of two floors, the ground floor is for prayer and first floor used as a school. Hence, it was well known as Al-Ameriyah mosque or Al-Ameriyah school.
