[11 January 2004] SANA'A, Jan 11 (Saba)- Egyptian Minister of Higher Education Moufed M. Shehab said that there was an absolute "interdependence" between democracy, development, human rights, political reformation, and the building of
the state of law.
Addressing the Regional Intergovernmental Conference on Democracy, Human Rights and the Role of the International Criminal Court, he said that democracy is especially an elevated motto in this delicate stage of developments
and unprecedented events in the Middle East.
The exchange views on democracy and related issues such as human rights is more than ever before, Shehab said. He added that respect for and observance of human rights is a precondition of sustainable development and democracy.
