He was born in 1918, in Wadi Dahar , Hammdan district ,Sanaa governorate.
He took his primary and preparatory education ,and joined to war school in Sana`a.
In 1935 he joined to Army Collage in Baghdad and graduated as 2nd.
In 1940 He joined to Yemeni Army (Defense Army) and assumed many positions .
He shared in 1948 revolution , and after its failure he was jailed for seven years in Hajja Prison , after he had been released, pointed as director of Al- Hudeida Sea Port ,with a rank of brigadier general.

Before three years from 26 Sept Revolution he pointed as War Collage Manger ,and he founded the weapon school for using of three kinds of weapon (light ,middle, heavy ). After the 26th of September revolution in 1962 he appointed in many high rank positions as follow:

Minister of War in the first republic government , member of the leadership Revolution Council on 27Sept.1962.
Ambassador of Yemen Arab Republic to the United Arab Republic 1963 .

Prime minister on 3 My 1964.
Minister of Economic & treasure on 6 Jan 1965 .
Leader of the National Council of Defense on 28 May1965.
Member of the republican Council 4 Sep.1965.
War Minister on 16 Apr.
After Seventieth Blockade he entrust with many missions of general leader of armed forces .

Ambassador of Yemen to the Republic of Libya 1974.
Ambassador in Saudi Arabia 1976 .
On 22 March 1985 he dead in Cairo .
