Yemen welcomes new UN envoy

SANAA, Feb. 17 (Saba) – The Yemeni Foreign Ministry on Saturday welcomed the appointment of Martin Griffiths as a special envoy of the secretary-general of the United Nations to Yemen, in a statement received by Saba.

The ministry said Mr. Griffiths has enjoyed a long experience in negotiations and seeking peaceful resolutions in many conflict areas.

The ministry hoped Griffiths would help Yemeni parties to reach a political settlement and to end the Saudi military aggression on Yemen and to lift the all-out blockade.

The ministry affirmed that it will provide all support and facilities to the UN envoy to achieve the desired objectives to stop the aggression war against the Yemeni people.
