President chairs meeting to develop Zakat revenues
[31/May/2017] SANA'A, May 30 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council Saleh al-Sammad presided over on Tuesday a meeting in the presence of the deputy of the Council Dr. Qassem Labazah, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Minister of Finance Dr. Saleh Sha'aban and Minister of Local Administration Ali al-Qaisi.

The meeting reviewed Zakat revenues and the importance of its controlling and directing its to rightful ways, which would help the poor and vulnerable society segments.

The meeting discussed aspects related to opening a special Zakat account for full supply. It also discussed the necessity of mobilizing all energies, especially local authorities to develop Zakat revenues especially in the holy month of Ramadan and find the best way to deliver it to a large segment of society as well as to improve the economic situation of the society.

The meeting approved the formation of a committee to develop the necessary practical and legal concepts and mechanisms of Zakat revenues.
