[03/April/2017] SANA'A, April 03 (saba) - Oil and Minerals Minister Dhiab Mohsen bin Me'ili met on Monday with the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick.
They discussed the progress of humanitarian work and the aspects of cooperation and coordination to alleviate the humanitarian situation aggravated by the continued aggression and siege against Yemen.
The meeting touched upon the threats of the aggression to target the port of Hodeida and its closure which leads disastrous consequences as it is a lifeline for Yemeni people to deliver food and medicine supplies.
The Minister hailed the exerted efforts by the UN official in the humanitarian field in Yemen.
He stressed that the targeting of the port of Hodeida is a crime, and is a contrary to all norms and charters of the international humanitarian law which leads disastrous humanitarian consequences at various levels.
Mr. McGoldrick stressed the importance of cooperation in order to enhance humanitarian work in Yemen, and to protect civilian facilities in accordance with international humanitarian law.
