FM meets WFP acting representative for Yemen
[27/March/2017] SANA'A, March 27, 2017 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Monday met with the acting representative of the World Food Program (WFP) for Yemen

The Foreign Minister discussed with the WFP official the latest threats by Saudi Arabia to target the port of Hodeidah and declare it a military zone.

This would be impede the access of humanitarian aid to the non-occupied territories in order to pressure national forces and obstruct the access of containers' cranes donated by the US Agency for Development (USAID) and WFP for the port, the minister said.

He added the negative effects would result in further deterioration of the humanitarian and economic situation of the Yemeni people that lead an increasing in the numbers of those in need of humanitarian assistance.

The minister called upon the WFP and the United Nations to play their role in exposing these aggressive practices that target the Yemeni people.

The WFP official expressed his thanks for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of National Salvation for facilitating the program's needs to help the citizens affected by the siege of the Saudi aggression and its allies.
