President meets UN USG/ERC for humanitarian affairs

SANA'A, March 2 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council Saleh Al-Sammad met on Thursday in Sana'a the Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coordinator (USG/ERC) for humanitarian affairs, Stephen O'Brien.

The president discussed with O'Brien current humanitarian situation before he left the capital, after a three-day official visit to Yemen.

‬‬President al-Sammad gave O'Brien a message to the UN Secretary-General concerning humanitarian situation and ways to support their efforts to alleviate suffering of Yemenis.
‬‬
O'Brien confirmed that solution in Yemen should not be only political, stressing that alleviate to suffering of Yemenis will not stop.

O'Brien confirmed the importance to secure and reopen Hodeida port, left siege and allow aid and goods to enter Yemen.

The UN official also called for releasing salaries of the state employees from the central bank in Aden in order not to get the situation into worse.
