Labor Minister discusses role of ILO's office in Yemen
[05/February/2017]

SANA'A, Feb. 05 (Saba) - Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Faeqa Ba'alawi discussed on Sunday with the International Labour Organization (ILO) representative in Yemen, Ali Dahaq, the nature of the role played by the organization's office in Yemen.

The two sides dealt with the large damage to the labor sector due to the Saudi aggressive war and bombing on factories and the economic installations, which has resulted in raising the unemployment rate to very large levels.

They also touched upon the organization's role in carrying out studies and quick surveys to find out the current variables in the labor market and unemployment rates on the level of each province and future programs after the conflict cessation.

The meeting stressed the need to take into account the child labor in accordance with the variables taking place in the society, where there is a lot of children are responsible for their families' needs, and that there should be a safe working environment to absorb these children and ensure their rights.
