UN Political Affairs asks permission for Ould Cheikh visit to capital Sana'a

SANA'A, Jan. 19 (Saba) – The United Nations Political Affairs Office has applied to the Yemeni Foreign Ministry for permission to its UN Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to visit the capital Sana'a, Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf told Saba.

"We have asked the program of Ould Cheikh's visit and the agenda that he would put on the table for discussion," minister Sharaf said in remarks made late on Wednesday.

"We are waiting for Ould Cheikh to provide us with his visit's program, the agenda and all other new issues that would accelerate the peaceful political settlement," Sharaf said.

Minister Sharaf reaffirmed that the Supreme Political Council and the government are committed to provide all help and facilities to the UN special envoy's mission and the foreign ministry will exert all efforts to succeed Ould Cheikh's task.
