National delegation, UN envoy discuss proposals for transition roadmap
[26/May/2016]

KUWAIT, May 26 (Saba) – The national delegation continued on Thursday, during a session with the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, to discuss ideas and proposals relating to the transition roadmap.

In the session, the national delegation insisted on the need to form a consensus executive authority and determine the time-bound tasks and powers of the transitional phase leading to presidential and parliamentary elections.

The delegation underlined the importance of finding adequate guarantees for a political solution leads to stopping the Saudi aggression, lifting the siege, achieving peace and ending the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Meanwhile, the national delegation renewed its condemnation of the continuing violations of the ceasefire committed by the Saudi aggression and its mercenaries through the airstrikes and military reinforcements and repeated attacks by the mercenaries on the sites of the army and popular committees in several areas.

In this regard, the national delegation stressed that firming up the ceasefire represents a key and important element for the success of the Kuwait consultations.
