SANA'A, Dec.09 (Saba) - Losses of the state public treasury due to frequent attacks on oil pipelines and power lines reached 1.4 trillion rials during 2012-2014, the government revealed.
The government confirmed that the deterioration of security and political situation and the lack of full implementation of the rule of law have resulted in incurring the national economy in general and the state budget in particular significant losses. It considered that the most prominent challenges facing the government at the present time.
Working on the completion of the transition tasks ,enhancing security and political stability and providing the necessary economic environment to achieve sustainable economic growth have been set within the overall objective of the government's general program currently before the Parliament.
However, the government placed correcting security situation and restoring the prestige of the state on the list of important and urgent priorities listed in its draft program.
In its general program, the government has pledged to put necessary measures to protect the installations and sites of petroleum and mineral operations.
The government highlighted ,in the framework of its transitional tasks, the preparation of special legislation criminalizing acts of vandalizing and bombing the oil and electricity facilities.
