The participants in the meeting, which was chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Farid Mujawar and attended by representatives of a number of international organizations and donors and interested in food security, stressed the importance of unifying of the efforts of donors and international organizations to promote the use of available resources in a complementary manner through the Technical Council for finances provided by the donor organizations to agricultural projects.

At the meeting, the Minister confirmed that the Technical Council represents a tool to strengthen the relationship between the ministry and donors.

Mujawar confirmed his keenness to find a mechanism to strengthen the partnership with donors to include assistance for the implementation of plans and programs in this area so as to enhance the role of the agricultural sector in achieving food security.

For his part, Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Yemen, Dr. Salah Hajj Hassan, pointed to the importance of the meeting in developing proposals on the Technical Council for finances.
