Yemen partakes in Transitions from a Human Rights Perspective conference
[24/May/2013] ISTANBUL, May 24 (Saba) – The activities of the Political Transitions from a Human Rights Perspective international conference were concluded on Friday with the presence of Turkish President Abdullah Gül and the participation of Yemen.

The conference was organized by the 38th Congress of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) with participation of 300 activists from more than 120 countries in addition to 164 representatives of human rights organizations representing the FIDH.

Under the claim of (freedom, justice, dignity and equality) the international conference was began on Thursday with a march rally conducted by the activists to release human rights defenders from various jails all over the world, including Turkey.

Activists presented the most prominent cases of violations in the countries of the world, especially the Arab region, topped by the Israeli violations against Palestinians.

Arab Spring countries occupied the attention in the conference for the importance of the current phase experienced by the Arab region in general and Arab countries of the popular revolts in particular.
