Tourism Minister meets with French journalists and painters
[07/February/2013]

SANA’A, Feb.07 (Saba)- Tourism Minister Qasim Sallam met on Thursday with a group of French journalists, photographers and painters, currently visiting Yemen, within the framework of project marketing for Yemeni tourism product.

The minister Sallam expressed his happiness for the group’s visit to Yemen and their visit to a number of archaeological ,historical and natural cities and sites, particularly those listed within the World Heritage List.

He pointed to the significant role of media personnel to remove the ambiguous image on Yemen as a result of anti-media campaigns, and to provide facts about Yemen's tourism and its ancient heritage.

The minister confirmed that Yemen still represents a tourist destination with distinction, referring that the increasing of demand for it in the international tourism market confirms that.

In the meeting, the minister made a number of clarifications on some of the aspects that the questions of journalists revolved around, which included the reality of tourism and security and the future vision and the plans and programs of Yemen's tourism for the current year.
