Military delegation returns home

SANA'A, Nov. 08 (Saba)- A Yemeni military delegation returned to Sana'a Thursday after taking part in the meetings of the joint Yemeni-Saudi military committee which were held in the Saudi capital Riyadh on 6-7 November.

Speaking to Saba, the head of the delegation, Chief of General Staff Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal said that the committee meetings were successful, stressing the need to enhance cooperation in various fields, particularly in the fight against terrorism, smuggling and piracy.

The joint military committee has approved the strengthening of aspects of mutual military and security cooperation between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

During its two-day meetings in Riyadh, the committee also discussed a range of military issues of common interest.

The meetings were co-chaired by al-Ashwal and Chief of General Staff of Saudi Army Lieutenant General Hussein bin Abdullah al-Qabeel.
