Hadi holds talks with EU officials

BRUSSELS, Oct. 03 (Saba) – President Abdo Rabu Mansour Hadi met Wednesday, at his residence in the Belgian capital, Brussels, with number of the Gulf states' Ambassadors to the European Union (EU).

President Hadi and the ambassadors discussed several issues related to the Yemeni affairs and the political path in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism as well as the taken steps towards implementing the initiative's first stage and till entering the second stage presented in the preparation and holding the national dialogue.

The meeting made reference to the support for the current phase in Yemen and the efforts of the Gulf States in propping up Yemen in various sides, topped by standing beside Yemen during its crisis.

The nature of President Hadi's tour and its, as well Yemen Friends' meeting, outcomes was also discussed in the meeting.

In return, the Gulf ambassadors expressed their pleasure for meeting President Hadi, asserting to do their best at the EU to offer the full political and economic support to Yemen.

From the other hand, Hadi met with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Baroness Catherine Ashton, and reviewed with her the situation in Yemen from the political and security sides

Ashton affirmed the EU would support Yemen in order to assist it to carry out the steps of the Gulf initiative's second phase as well as to prop up the President's efforts in facing challenges impeding development in Yemen.
