WASHINGTON, Sep. 29 (Saba) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has accented the significance to fulfill the commitments announced in Riyadh donors conference and Yemen Friends' meeting held in New York so Yemen could overcome its difficult challenges.
This came in a meeting gathered President Abdo Rabu Mansour Hadi, at his residence in Washington on Friday evening, with Managing Director of the IMF Christine Lagarde.
At their meeting, President Hadi and Lagarde discussed aspects of promoting cooperation between the IMF and Yemen, especially during the country's difficult and exceptional conditions.
President Hadi addressed the nature of situation caused by the political crisis that erupted early last year 2011 and noted to the importance of overcoming statuses of inaction in order to accommodate the international assistance offered for Yemen.
The IMF director felicitated the President for the success of conferences of the donors held in Riyadh and Yemen Friends' group in New York, affirming Yemen is undergoing an unprecedented political transition promising for a more prosperous future for the people of Yemen.
