WASHINGTON, Sep.28 (Saba)- President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Friday at his residence in the U.S. capital, Washington, the World Bank (WB)’s President, Jim Yong, and his accompanying delegation.
They reviewed in the meeting the exceptional current situation in Yemen, especially with regard to the economic aspect and the necessary requirements for helping Yemen to come out of the current difficult circumstances to safety.
He pointed out that if Yemen slipped into a civil war, that will be a big problem causes serious damage at the Yemeni, regional and international levels.
The president referred to the strategic importance occupied by Yemen's geographical location to secure the international navigation, indicating that the interests of the world will be under threat in the event that the security, stability and unity of Yemen exposed to danger.
Hadi expressed his deep satisfaction at the outcomes of the Friends of Yemen meeting, looking forward to the help of the WB through additions that will be devoted for the urgent humanitarian aid and economic imperatives.
For his part, the WB’s official pointed out that he was closely following the economic matters and the repercussions of the crisis in Yemen.
He confirmed that the bank will spare no effort in providing the possible assistance, and that the international community is keen to help Yemen in these exceptional circumstances and on the success of the requirements of the transitional phase.
