Yemen, UNHCR review refugees' conditions

GENEVA, Sep. 25 (Saba) - Minister of Human Rights Houriah Mashhour met in Geneva on Tuesday with director of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)'s Middle East and North Africa Bureau Yacoub El Hillo.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the meeting of 21st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Mashhour and El Hillo reviewed the refugees' conditions in Yemen, especially in the light of increasing the refugees' numbers recently and the challenges faced by Yemen.

They also discussed the possible ways to strengthen the cooperation with the UNHCR with regard to improving the refugees' conditions and providing their humanitarian needs.

On the other hand, the minister held talks with head of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the UN High Commission for Human Rights Faraj Fneish over the cooperation with the Commission in the human rights field and its support to Yemen to carry out the Human Rights Council.
