President heads to UK in tour includes European countries, US

SANA’A, Sep.23 (Saba)- President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi headed on Sunday to the United Kingdom at the start of a tour includes several European countries and the United States of America.

President's trip comes at a prior invitation from those countries sponsoring the political settlement in Yemen based on the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism.

In a statement to Saba upon departing Sana’a Airport, President Hadi said that this tour comes within the framework of sparing Yemen the woes of war, division and split and taking it out to safety.

The president noted that the second stop of the visit will be the United States of America ," the visit that we hold great hopes ,as a senior partner in helping Yemen in the economic, political and security aspects .”

Hadi confirmed that he will attend the Friends of Yemen conference to be held in New York on Thursday, September 27, where donor countries are expected to declare fiscal pledges to help Yemen overcome its economic challenges.

He pointed out that he, on the sidelines of the New York conference will meet with President Barack Obama to discuss with him the relations between the two countries and mutual interests at the different levesl.

The president’s tour will also include France and Germany.
