SANA'A, Sep. 19 (Saba) - Prime Minister reiterated Wednesday his condemnation of the assault committed by protesters last Thursday on the US embassy in Sana'a, during a protest about a film ridiculing Islam's Prophet Muhammad.
During his meeting with US ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein, Basindwa said that such acts do not represent the Islam and Prophet Muhammad's teachings of moral virtues.
The Premier said that government is working hard to reinforce the necessary security measures to protect all embassies, diplomatic missions and personnel in the country, expressing his confidence that the incident would not affect the excellent strategic relations between Yemen and the USA.
The US ambassador pointed to the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and joint concern to advance them, stressing that his country continues to provide all aspects of support to achieve the stability and development of Yemen.
Last Thursday, thousands of protesters attacked the US embassy in protest at an American-made video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). The attack led to killing 4 citizens and wounding 38 others, according to the Interior Ministry.
