EU supports transitional Justice in Yemen: d'Urso says
[12/September/2012]

SANA'A, Sep. 12 (Saba) - European Union (EU) ambassador to Yemen accented on Wednesday the EU's support for the transitional Justice law.

During his meeting with Minister of Legal Affaires Mohammed al-Mikhlafi, Michele Cervone d'Urso said that the Union will sign a draft agreement of technical support to the legal affaires ministry in October.

He hailed the ministry's efforts in the process of legislation harmonization, particularly the transitional justice law.

At the meeting, the minister praised the efforts made by EU ambassador, specifically during the past two years, and his role in bringing the national reconciliation, implementing the Gulf initiative and supporting human rights.

He also valued the EU's support for the ministry's efforts to prepare legislations and laws that promote freedom of opinion and expression and protect human rights, particularly the draft law on transitional justice.
