SANA’A, Aug.27 (Saba)- Yemen and the World Bank (WB) discussed here on Monday a draft grant from the Bank for the implementation of rural roads as well as the maintenance of roads in the provinces of Amran and Hajjah at a total length of 360km.
This came during the meeting of Minister of Public Works and Roads Engineer Omar Al-Kurshmi with the WB’s representative for environmental and infrastructure projects Engineer Ibrahim al-Dajani.
In the meeting, the two sides touched upon the grant provided by the WB to the Yemeni government for the maintenance of 250 km in a number of provinces, the most important of which are Hodeidah,Taiz, and Ibb wth $ 40 million.
The visit of the Bank’s delegation headed by Engineer al-Dajani aimed to complete the preparatory work related to the project referred to, as well as some other projects being implemented, particularly with regard to the work of studies, designs and bids procedures and selection of consultants in preparation for submitting it to the WB’s management to give the final consent.
