Over 600 African refugees land on Yemen coasts

SANA’A, Aug.21 (Saba)- The Security Information Center of Interior Ministry has said that 625 refugees from the Horn of Africa arrived in Yemeni coasts last two days.

The center has quoted the security services in the coastal provinces said that among the African refugees who landed on the Yemeni coast 172 women and 53 children, noting that 230 of the refugees arrived at Thubab coast in Taiz governorate and 247 others arrived to the coasts of the provinces of Hadramout and Shabwa, as well as 155 refugees on the coast of Abyan.

It added that the vast majority of refugees ,who have arrived in the four provinces, are Somalis, who numbered 570 refugees, and the rest (55 refugees) from Ethiopia.

The security services in those areas have sent the refugees to the main camp to house the refugees in Kharaz District in Lahj province, the center pointed out.
