SANA’A, Aug.20 (Saba)- The traffic accidents claimed lives of 247 people of different ages and injured 972 others during the holy month of Ramadan.

A report prepared by the Security Information Center ,based on daily traffic reports, has pointed out that the same period has seen the occurrence of 662 different traffic accidents across the governorates roads.

The report estimated the material losses due to the whole accidents at about 125 million riyals.

The report attributed the causes of the traffic accidents that occurred during the holy month of Ramadan to the excess speed, negligent drivers and pedestrians and wrong overtaking, as well as chewing qat and talking via mobiles while driving and sudden technical failures along with other reasons mainly include the technical validation of roads.
