Some 2nd Brigade personnel attack Defence Ministry
[15/August/2012]
SANA'A, Aug.15 (Saba) – A number of the 2nd Mountain Infantry Brigade personnel have gathered at Ministry of Defence at five forty A.M. on Tuesday and tried to get control of some hotels and high buildings surrounding the ministry, an official source at the Supreme Security Committee has said.

The source added that the armed personnel, with light and medium weapons, have closed the road leading to Taiz Street from Bab al-Yaman side asking for illegal and excessive demands.

There was an attempt to convince those militants to go back to their camps and their claims would be taken in consideration but they didn't retreated on attacking the guards of the Ministry of Defence and killing two of them, the source added.

The source went further with saying that some of the attackers were arrested and would be brought to a military justice, noting that a joint committee form ministries of defence and interior was formed to investigate in the causes of the incident and to be submitted then to the supreme committee.

The Supreme Security Committee warns of repeating such acts by any subversive elements aiming to undermine the security and stability of the country.
