[15/August/2012]

BRUSSEL, Aug.15 (Saba)- The European Union (EU) has called on all parties in Yemen to respect the institutions of the state and to ensure the full implementation of the decisions issued by President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

This came in a statement issued Wednesday by the High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Defense Policy at the EU and Vice-President of European Commission, Catherine Ashton.

She said: "We are following with concern the developments that took place near the Defense Ministry in Sana'a, which came two weeks after the looting of the Interior Ministry."

"It is important that expressing and defending any claims related to social and labor conditions is done through peaceful means", Ashton added.

She concluded by saying: "The EU calls on all parties in Yemen to respect the institutions of the state and to ensure that the full implementation of the decisions issued by President Hadi ,which are consistent with the Gulf initiative and the Security Council’s Resolution No. 2051."
