U.S. fully supports decisions of restructuring Yemeni army

SANA'A, Aug. 11 (Saba)- The U.S. has announced its welcome and full support for the decisions issued by President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi last week on restructuring the Yemeni army and security institutions.

"Yemen has seen a remarkable transition during the events of the past year, and the recent decisions is a clear indicator of the positive steps taken by Yemen on its democrtice path", the U.S. State Department said in a press release issued on Friday evening.

The press release noted that the U.S. looked forward to the rapid implementation of the mentioned resolutions that are consistent with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism as well as the UN Security Council's Resolution No. 2051.

It indicated that the decisions of restructuring the Yemeni army and security institutions and building them professionally in the light of the international standards and under a civilian leadership serves the interests of the Yemeni people and the region.

The U.S. State Department pointed out in its press relase that the U.S. will continue to work together with Yemeni President and people in light of their efforts to realize their aspirations for a stable, secure and prosperous state.
