UNFPA to support 2011 -2012 reproductive health strategy with $200,000

SANA'A, Aug. 02 (Saba) –The United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) would support the Ministry of Public Health and Population to fill the deficit in the budget of the National Strategy for Reproductive Health for the years 2011 -2012 with $ US 200,000.

This came at a meeting gathered Minister of Public Health and Population Ahmed al-Ansi with the UNFPA Regional Director for Arab countries' affairs.

The meeting dealt with the mutual cooperation relations between the ministry and the fund in aspects to achieve the goals of the millennium development in areas of maternal and neonatal as well as in propping up the national strategy for reproductive health.

The minister expressed his appreciation for the UNFPA support offered for the ministry and its assistance to overcome the difficulties facing the ministry.

For his part, the fund's official asserted the readiness of the UNFPA to support health programs in population sector.
