Yemen, U.S. discuss cooperation in agriculture sector

SANA'A, July 29 (Saba)- Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Farid Mujawar discussed on Sunday with the technical official at the International Partnership, Ms. Stephanie, cooperation areas .

The two side also touched on the U.S. support for activities of the agricultural sector in Yemen to strengthen its role in food security.

Mujawar noted to the close collaboration between Yemen and the U.S. in various fields, especially in the agricultural sector, through Response Project and the Food Security Program, which have achieved many successes in supporting the ministry and capacity building of staffs.

He expressed his hope to further continued support for the agriculture sector in Yemen.

For her part, the U.S. official confirmed her country's readiness to support the agricultural development paths in Yemen in the framework of cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries.

She indicated that the meeting was an opportunity to identify the needs of the ministry from the U.S. support in the technical aspects and to form a clear mechanism to provide support during the next phase.
