Yemen, UNFPA discuss possible aid for safe delivery project
[07/July/2012]

SANA'A, July 07 (Saba) - Yemen and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) discussed here on Saturday the possible aid for the social affairs and labor ministry's project of safe delivery.

This came in a meeting brought together minister of social affairs and labor Amat al-Razzaq Hummad with UNFPA's resident representative in Yemen Mr. Marc Vandenberghe.

During which, the minister briefed the UNFPA's representative on the nature of the project and its role in the last years to make safe delivery at homes for reducing maternal and infant mortality rates and of childbirth-related diseases.

Mr. Vandenberghe stressed that the UNFPA would spare no effort to keep on the project's activities that have been halted last year due to the crisis erupted in the country.

He expressed satisfaction of the project's outcomes, asserting the continuation of cooperation with ministry in the 2012-2013 program round.
