Yemen recaptures vital areas from al-Qaeda

SANA'A, June 11 (Saba) - The military troops alongside the popular committees have managed after strong battles with al-Qaeda militants to retake full control over Batis area and October 7 factory in Abyan province, Southern Military Region's commander said Monday.

Salim Ali Qaten said that the military troops have recovered a number of military vehicles, weapons and large quantities of ammunition looted by the militants.

"The troops are getting prepared now to comb the area and pursue the militants toward the Shaqra town," Qaten said.

The rest of the terrorist militants are being cracked down considerably in Jaar town, the Southern Military Region's commander said, stressing Abyan province is to celebrate soon its victory against the terrorists.
