PM in Sana'a after partaking in friends of Yemen meeting
[24/May/2012]

SANA'A, May 24 (Saba) - Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa returned home on Thursday after taking part in the meeting of friends of Yemen held on Wednesday in Riyadh.

Basindwa described the results of the meeting as successful and fruitful, and a clear message of support from the international community for Yemen to overcome the current challenges, particularly the economic and security ones.

The Saudi Arabia's grant of $3.25 billion for development projects in Yemen would impact remarkably on stabilizing Yemen, the Prime Minister said.

He commended the Yemen friends' understanding of the challenges and difficulties Yemen is facing currently, valuing their confirmation on the need to help Yemen to tackle them.

Basindwa stressed the government is counting on the next meeting of donors to be held in June to cover the financing needs of the phased program for stability and development 2012 – 2014 and provide the necessary aid to assist in fulfilling its obligations in various areas.
