ROME, May 15 (Saba) – Yemen and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) discussed Tuesday the medium-term plan of the organization in Yemen during the period 2012-2015.
During the sidelines of the31st session of the FAO Regional Conference for the Near East (NERC31), Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Farid Mujawar and the FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva reviewed programs carried out by the FAO in Yemen.
The minister noted to the support of Yemen for the organization's efforts in enhancing decentralization and reforms.
In return, the FAO official hailed the level of cooperation with Yemen which is one of the organization's priorities to concern on in the region.
The FAO obligates to continue propping up Yemen and encouraging donors' countries to contribute effectively in the development programs in order to eliminate poverty in Yemen, he added.
It is worth to mention that, Yemen was selected as rapporteur
for the NERC31session which is holding in the Italian capital, Rome during the period May 14-18.
