President meets Australian diplomat

SANA'A, May 15 (Saba) - President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi met here on Tuesday with non-resident Australian ambassador to Yemen Neil Hopkins.

The President discussed with the Australian diplomat the mutual cooperation relations as well as the progress of the political settlement in Yemen based on the Gulf initiative and the UN resolution 2014.

They also reviewed the aftermaths of the 2011 crisis in the various political, security and economic areas and the required aid.

President Hadi welcomed the Australian investments in the oil, gas, minerals and fishery areas, saying that any partnership would guarantee good economic benefits for both sides.

Hadi expressed appreciation of the Australian government's decision to take part in the Yemen's friend meeting to be held in Riyadh on May 23.

The Australian ambassador expressed his government's support for all steps achieved under the Gulf initiative, stressing that the Australian support will continue till making all the desired goals.
