Senior al-Qaeda leader killed in Yemen

SANAA, May 07 (Saba)- Al-Qaeda leader Fahd Al-Quso was killed on Sunday in an airstrike in the eastern Yemeni province of Shabwa, security sources said.

According to the sources, al-Quso was killed when an airstrike targeted a car which al-Quso was on board along with several militants who were also killed in the attack.

Al-Quso was convicted by a Yemeni court in 2004 over the October 2000 bombing of the US Navy destroyer USS Cole which claimed the lives of 17 US sailors.
